Workout Tunes

Today we woke up to snow, which is pretty rare in the Pacific Northwest! It was really coming down on my way into work this morning.

Even though there wasn't too much accumulation, it was still really pretty! Days like today make me appreciate being able to walk to work - I hate driving in the snow. On my way to work I saw three almost accidents. As soon as there is a teeny tiny bit of snow on the ground it's like people forget how to drive (what's a four way stop???).

Although I'm taking a rest day today because I can hardly stand-up/sit-down/walk due to my squats and lunges yesterday, I wanted to share a bit about my work-out music. For me, having good music can make the difference between an average and great workout. I like to workout to music with a fast, driving beat - it helps keep my energy up! Also, knowing I have fun songs to listen to sometimes gives me the kick in the butt I need to get my workout in.

Here's what's currently on my mp3 player:
  • Black Eyed Peas - Pump It
  • Pink - So What
  • Carolina Liar - I'm Not Over
  • Matchbox 20 - How Far We've Come
  • Boys Like Girls - Love Drunk
  • Young the Giant - My Body
  • LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
  • Kanye West - Stronger
  • Pitbull - I Know You Want Me
  • LMFAO - Sexy and I Know It
  • The Killers - Somebody Told Me
  • Linkin Park - Bleed It Out
  • Bruno Mars - Runaway Baby
  • Owl City - Umbrella Beach
  • Black Eyed Peas, I Gotta Feeling
  • Katy Perry - Hot N Cold
  • The Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated
  • Flo Rida - Club Can't Handle Me
  • Alexandra Stan - Mr. Saxobeat
  • Arkarna - So Little Time
  • Avril Lavigne - Skaterboy
  • Down With Webster - Your Man
  • Enrique Iglesias (feat. Pitbull) - I Like It
  • Kesha - Tick Tock
  • Lady GaGa - Born this Way
  • Pitbull - Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor)
  • The Veronicas - Untouched
What's your favourite song to work out to? Hope you all had a great Monday!

  1. Hai Melisa,

The title "Workout tunes" of your post triggered me to come over here from Lori's blog. I see you just started your blog and what I've read, I like.

So I will be back here. Feel free to visit my blog if you want too. I've read you won't be too far away from me in a couple of months (Paris is 500 km from where I live :)

  2. Hi Melisa! I have about half of those songs on my recent playlists too. I have to do another post on music because I think it makes exercise so much more fun when the perfect song is on. Right now, I have so many favorite songs!!!

    :-) Marion

  3. I am so lame that I don't know any of those songs LOL! I love to listen to Journey and some jazz (Dirty Dozen, Hot Club of Detroit). Or my latest thing is the sound track to Sweeney Todd. What kind of camera do you have?

    1. I just have a little Canon PowerShot. It fits in my pocket but takes great pics - I love it! I don't listen to that kind of music for pleasure, but it sure gets me going in the gym!
