Moving on down!

What a difference a day can make! I feel so much better. The scale is moving down, the cravings are subsiding, and I feel in control of my choices. Today was a good day eating wise. Here is my food tracker. Yes, it's a little ghetto but it works for me. For a while I used the WW 3 months tracker, but now I just buy a 365 day calendar and fill it in each day.

Did you know you can have 10 pistachios for 1 point? (Btw, whenever I say point, I mean pointplus - I am using the new plan but can't be bothered to write out PP). Makes a good bedtime snack. For me, this is a better "deal" than almonds...

Bedtime Snack
Speaking of PointsPlus, I'll think write up my thoughts on the old Points program vs. the new PointsPlus soon. But as you can see I have 7 points let over today (from the 29). I am satisfied and feel I have eaten well today so I see no reason to go eat extra just to make up the 29. Besides now that we are "allowed" to decrease down to 26 and fruit is "free" there's even less reason to eat all my points.

The other reason I am feeling extra good about my health? I have worked out 5 out of the lat 7 days. I have a membership to a gym a 6 minute walk away from my place so it's easy to go. I tried going in the morning before work but it just didn't work well for my schedule. I felt rushed in the morning to get to work and then I was super hungry all day! Working out in the morning just made me want to eat more. But I think going in the evenings works well. I find it more relaxing because it gives me time to unwind from my day. Also, an added benefit is that there's no temptation for post-dinner snacking throughout the evening. Well, except for a well-deserved bedtime snack post-gym!

Here I am before my workout tonight:
Ahhh...unflattering mirror picture. You can see the tummy paunch that is the result of too much indulgence over the holidays!

And here I am post workout. Tonight I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 15 minutes on the stairstepper. I burned 475 calories (according to the machines) and worked up quite the sweat! I also did some abs, stretching, and physio exercises.

Gotta love the faux 3-way mirror! As you can see I really got my sweat on.

Motivating quote from my workout music tonight:
My Body tells me no, but I won't quit Cause I want more,
cause I want more
- My Body, Young the Giant

Hope everyone had a great Friday!

  1. I totally agree with your plan...to see a change of shape and deal with it while its only a small change...I hope to follow this myself when I get to goal...never let a little gain become a big one.
